Today 23rd April 2007 I stand here to commemorate the loss of a great friend -- May Leong Bai Yen. She's a great daughter to her Mom, a great friend, a great worker, a great colleague, a great person as a whole. Little did I, nor any one of her relatives nor friends, much least her Mom, expected such a thing to happen to her.Born on 18th May 1978, she was a single child. Being so made her strong and since she started working, she became the support of her family. Plans to bring her Mom overseas would now not ever be fulfilled. For someone who always said she doesn't know what she wants in life, she definitely is an interesting person. Fun-loving and always jovial in front of others. Unless in times when she's very sad, it's almost impossible not to find a smile across her face. But now, we can only see her smile through our photos and memory. Who would have expected a lady so young, jovial and kind to leave so suddenly.
I received the news of her admittance into NUH before 9pm from her best friend Pamela and her Mom. I told Brother immediately and we went down to NUH A&E immediately. Reaching there for less than half an hour, we heard the news of her death. Good thing Pamela reached. Guys can't console others for nuts... Throughout the night, we contacted as many of her relatives, friends and colleagues as possible and by the time we know it, it was almost midnight. 1st time a close friend of mine passed away so suddenly... Wonder what's going to happen to her Mom.
Sadly, the cause of her death was still unknown as of now. Her body will be moved to SGH for investigation. For those who know her and reads my blog in Multiply, her wake should be held at her void deck: Blk 711 Clementi West St. 2. Still don't know the rest of the arrangements yet. Just hope her Mom will be strong.
