Refreshed =)

Yupz as expected of the Forever Happy KY everyone remembers, I'm back to my happy self once again =) Though I'm still quite weak physically, but at least I'm back to my optimistic self. I do still sleep a lot, rest a lot, especially yesterday, think I spent around 18hours on bed. Didn't have much strength to do anything else except lie in bed, thinking, reading, sleeping etc.

Thank you for everyone who has visited me throughout =) all your presence were really a great source of encouragement. Even more for those who pray for me & pray with me. It's always very comforting just to know someone cares & loves me. Though my parents don't pray, but their love definitely supports me way more than they'll ever know or understand. Especially to my ever dearest GuGu who prays for me not only everyday, but also enourages a whole lot of prayer warriors to do the same for me. So now I pray every now & then as well, when I wake, when I'm free, when I'm doing nothing else, before I eat, af...

Relapse =)

I'm sorry everyone who's been concerned about me & my condition. Thinking back, actually it's not much of a big deal at all. Just 3 months ago, my doctor said my recovery from stage 4 lymphoma cancer was quite a miracle & just about 2 weeks ago, I was discovered with a relapse, quite a miracle as well if you were to ask me haha~

Just when I thought everything will just be going upwards from my life onwards, I fell into another deep dark valley in life once again. Recalling when I 1st heard that I was dignosed with cancer, I had no fear, no worries, no disappointment at all. Nothing was frightening, everything was still as bright as ever, as I always said so of myself -- I'm Forever Happy =)

However, this time I was really very scared...I don't know why but I was really very afraid, fear of what? Seriously I've got no idea. I cried, I prayed, I cried, I prayed, I cried, I prayed (mostly alone & silent) upteem times throughout the hospitalization. It just feels like this time i...

JH Treat @ Outback

5 real engineers with 2 fake engineers gathering at a dinner in Outback & what happened? Lots of photo taking & even doing so with exchanging of glasses haha~ Conclusion? We all got glasses that fit ourselves the most haha!

Thanks Brother Jiahao for the treat though you didn't have to but well since you insisted so yes thanks once again Brother. Wonder when will our next gathering be? All you real engineers are getting busier by the day with more & more submission & other work related stuff. Pity Fengling couldn't join us due to work.

Poor Jiahao & Hockseng will be starting classes for their LLB this coming Thursday sigh. That makes them even more tied up for such gatherings in the future. Maybe our next one will be in December. Gosh! That's far away! But who am I to complain when I'm the only one not working & leading a retiree lifestyle? Oops~

Mom's 56th Bday =)

Yesterday (08 Sep 08) was Mom's 56th birthday so Sis & I decided to give her a feast treat. Look at the photos for the amount of food that we ordered! I think there's at about 11 dishes or more? Not sure because I didn't count but for 7 of us, it cost only $105/= so definitely worth it! Yummy!

After dinner, we went to Aunt's place for the cake cutting & eating session. Been years since Mom had a birthday cake as she doesn't really like cakes, but yesterday Ziyang bought one for her haha~ Good choice of cake! Fruit cake & below is layered with chocolate!

Yellow Ribbon Concert!

Last night (6 Sep 08), we attended the Yellow Ribbon Concert held in Expo Max Pavillion. It's an annual concert, part of the Yellow Ribbon Project, to encourage ex-convicts to step out of their 2nd prison, referring either to their self-esteem or the general society in giving them a 2nd chance to put their lives right on track again.

It's definitely a very meaningful project & there was a vonlunteer legacy of 3 generations whom all volunteered in prisons, starting from the grandfather, to uncle then to nephew. Either once a week or once a month, depending on their availability of time committment.

Best thing of the concert? Wakin was the final performer! Yeah! All along since I was a primary school kid, I'd enjoyed Wakin's songs & at long last I get to see him in live performance! But as usual, he performed his trademark as well -- forgetting his song lyrics haha~ It wouldn't have been him if he didn't.

Pity we were sitting too far to take good photo shots but that didn't affect t...

Weekly Updates

Did nothing much this week except for tuitions, housework & a free lance courier service on Thursday. But yesterday (5 Sep 08) was a fulfilling day!

Dad didn't have to drive the taxi due to a minor accident that happened couple of days ago. A motorist flew from his bike & hit the bumper of Dad's taxi, so he sent it for repairs & claiming of the insurance from the lorry driver who was the cause of the accident.

So in the morning, he suggested that we go for breakfast at Rangoon Road for the 黄亚细肉骨茶。It was of course delicious! After that, we went for a shopping spree, or rather Mom & Sis went for the shopping spree in Tiong Baruh Market & they bought a couple of dresses each. Happy with their buys, Dad & Sis went for blood donation at HSA. Being a Silver Donor, Dad's name could be found in the River of Life just before the entrance to the registration counter! Yeah! Pity I can no longer be a blood donor...sigh...so people who are able to give blood, please do so &amp...

Weitian's 23rd Bday @ Aston

Right after the JB trip, I rushed down all the way to Aston Prime in Katong area to celebrate for Weitian's 23rd birthday! Totally worthwhile trip because the 5 of us had such a nice time catching up until it was 11:30pm (half an hour their closing time & yet all of the staff were nice enough to let us stay till we discovered it was already that late!).

Sean & Weitian are getting married in a couple of years! Yesh! I hear their wedding bells ringing already!

Multiply JB Trip

Yesterday (31 Aug 08), yes Malaysia's National Day, the 12 of us all known through JieJie went to JB for a 1-day feasting-shopping-ktv-trip!

Started out from Woodlands MRT at 10:30am & came back around 9:30pm. Tiring but of course fun & full too! Lunch was too much & Dinner was way way way too much haha! To think David & Michelle still suggested prata for supper after we came back...solid!

Those who went were:
Daphne JieJie, Bernard JieFu, Tracy tour guide, Alex refugee, Ann refugee's girlfriend, David organizer, Michelle organizer's girlfriend, Derek, Louise, Alison, Adeline colleague of JieJie & I & of course not forgetting our mini-bus driver Paul. Luckily we rented the van or else we would've spent at least 2 hours each in both the traffic jams to & from JB. Phew~

Thanks David for organizing this trip & Tracy for being our tour guide! Everything was just perfect!

Pity I didn't bring enough cash to buy mooncakes or durians haha but well that's a lesson learnt

Recent Updates

Monday (25 Aug 08):
I've started giving tuitions on Primary school Math & Chinese to KaiMa's 3 little angles (devils as well during tuition!). They sure aren't strong on their foundations especially Ian & Christie. Guess I'll have to put in much more efforts in drilling their basics or else anything I teach in the future will not go into their brains either haha!

Tuesday (26 Aug 08):
The only day which I relaxed the whole day phew~ However it is also Ricko's 26th birthday & GE's 100th birthday.

Wednesday:
Grandma's birthday celebration at night! Sadly I forgot to bring my camera so no photos were taken...sigh... Seriously how can I forget on such an important day?!?! Memory getting worse already haha!
TCC with GJ & Irene

Yesterday (29 Aug 08) Guojian, Irene & I had lunch eating the Super Fries in Bugis & decided to visit Comex. Even on friday afternoon it was still too crowded for my liking so we spent like only 15minutes then decided to chill out at TCC & that's where I took some photos of them.

Sadly I forgot to bring my ever trusted digicam as I went to SGH for checkup in the morning so had to use my hp instead. The photos didn't come out really well but still good enough haha! This couple is really interesting & they even pose the biting scene for me

Ovium Dinner

Only 4 of Ovium was available last night (24 Aug 08) for dinner but well it was good enough =) Makes it easier for us to get a place during dinner as well haha!

Met Irene sis-in-law (Brother Guojian's girlfriend & hopefully soon-to-be wife in the near future) earlier in order to shop for a birthday gift for Candy sis. Fortunately Irene suggested perfume or else I really have no idea what to get for a girl even though she's sis... Spent about half an hour getting the perfume from Lucky Plaza & proceeded to Island Cafe in Tangs for tea where Guojian joined us as well!

Stayed there till Navin came & we proceed to eat Ayam Penyet in Lucky Plaza. It's as good as that one opposite Shaw Towers & I'm sure the cat fish is not offered in Shaw either so yar Lucky is a better place for Cat Fish Penyet!

Chill out at Starbucks after dinner till around 11pm & headed home. It was already midnight when I slept & I sure was tired. Think I'm too used to sleeping at 10pm & waking at 6am nowadays....

CE KTV

As the official organizer of the CE KTV (22 Aug 08) for Lianwei's farewell to France, I proudly announce that it was a successful gathering! Even though some of us had to reach only quite late around 10pm but still we stayed till 1am until the auto shutdown timer was activated. Luckily for that, if not I guess we would've stayed until 3am or even later!

Ichikawa San (Hockseng's colleague from Shimitsu) joined us as well & he was actually the 1st one to reach the venue (Syrius Private Lounge)! Good thing Jiahao & I reached a couple of minutes after his arrival. Hope he had fun knowing this bunch of friends =)

Food was good & too much that we could only finish about half of it; KTV was super & coupled with a good surround sound system; venue was superb & even if our number was doubled, there was still more than sufficient space for everyone; lastly the wine that Hockseng suggested was Awesome & it cost only $44/=

Toastmasters

Last night (21 Aug 08) was our monthly toastmasters meeting & finally I joined in as a member. Therefore I'm now an official member of the Fengshan Community Center Toastmasters Club (FSCCTMC). $40 for the member's pack & $10/month for the club funds in order to spend for the miscellaneous stuff. Something worthwhile for me, or rather something useful I'm doing at long last haha!

Last month I failed to interact much with any of the members as I wasn't feeling exactly well & left early right after the session ended. But this time round was more fulfilling & if not for our gathering tonight which was planned by me almost a month ago, I'd have gone to Marine Parade CC's meeting later on tonight. Well...to learn more & of course make full use of the $ I've put in haha!

There was a table topic session last night, meaning that members can volunteer to go up & pick a random topic to give a 1-2min speech.
Back from Japan

According to the knowledge of my grandma who has been staying in hospital for the past one month, I just came back from Japan on Monday night (11 Aug 08) after a half year work trip. This was the lie to her so that I don't have to face her while I was still under the horrible effects of cancer or rather chemo. Now that my health is better & hair is at least of a crew cut length, I started visiting my grandma since Tuesday morning. Just a nice timing as Sis has just started school while previously during the holidays, she spent all her mornings accompanying grandma by her bedside, helping her with the physio therapy & other miscellaneous stuff. Now it's my turn.

However after two days of reaching at 8am, I found that it's kind of a waste of human resources as grandma's maid, Lulu, will go in the mornings to learn the ways of taking care of grandma after she's discharged & staying at home. Having 2 persons "helping" with the physio makes her lazy & we'll be the ones doing ...

Fruits @ Sophie

Singapore's National Day & the few of us gathered at Sophie's place for a fruits & ice cream & chips buffet! Played a game of taboo & as usual I was the unofficial camera man. Got to know them thanks to Jiaxin, my secondary school classmate! Thanks again JX

Sushi Teh =)

Met JieJie, JieFu, Jamie & Lyon for dinner in Sushi Teh yesterday (6 Aug 08). We saw someone almost a splitting image of Lyon but just a little older & too formal & neat as well.

After that thanks to Lyon's ride, we went to The Helipad in Central. Best thing about the venue is the breeze & fresh air since it's open air in the attic & away from the roads below.

Had a real good laugh thanks to Jamie & Lyon due to several funny jokes & ahem...haha~

Legends Gathering

Gym, swim, wrestle & eat. That was basically what I did in Legends yesterday (3rd Aug 08 Sunday). Kristy is really a good swimmer & she's got a beautiful, healthy looking tan! No matter any of the 4 swimming styles, she beats me hands down, leading me by at least 3m. If she carries on, definitely another or even better than Joycelyn Yeo in the future!

Ian & Glen are both kuala bears! They cling on me like nobody's business, wanting me to wrestle them into the waters. Ian is still fine because he's light but Glen's so heavy! I think he's almost 50kg so no flipping for him haha~

Very happy that most of us Ex-Ces people were able to make it but alas that Lisa, Angie & Phyllis were both tied up. Shihui & Gabriel failed to check their emails so they didn't have any idea of the gathering sigh... We've got 2 special guests -- Candy & Hockseng! Pity Jiahao couldn't join us due to some troublesome reasons again haha~

So now one last group for the catchup -- Ovium! Ernest...you know wha...

Changi Walk

Saturday (2 August 08) morning walk at the Changi Beach walk. Good thing the sun is hiding behind lots of clouds, making the walk very pleasant & refreshing! The air's good & the weather's fine. After the walk was brunch at Changi V. Not

Closure of July Feasting Month

31st July 08 & the last day of my self-declared feasting month! Thank you everyone who has joined me in this month of catching up & feasting as well haha~ I believe I've managed to catch up with all groups except for two -- Ovium & Ex-Ces. We had initial plans to meet on 19th & 26th July respectively but both were postponed due to several troublesome reasons haha~ So Brother GJ if you see this post, please organize the Ovium catch up soon! The Ex-Ces group will be this coming Sunday in Legends! I miss them, especially the 3 little angels!

Thank you Huiling for your surprise treat in Ajisen =) I miss the Volcano which you've ordered but sadly I can't take it because my taste buds have yet to go back to my original spice enduring standards sigh. Hopefully soon! I had suggested Bugis because of the super yummy fries sold by the stall Yella Fellas but after the ramen, we were both too filled for more. Fortunately Ajisen was one of the four which I've suggested, or else she wouldn't have...

Vegan Carbonara Success!

Sis & I made our 1st ever Vegan Carbonara sauce to go with the wholemeal & brownrice noodles for lunch today (31 July 08). YUMMY! Though from the photos it doesn't look appetizing because we've got no more carrots left in the fridge so it looks totally white & creamy etc. But who cares?! We had fun making it & it turned out delicious! Hooray to
